DAES SACCO will be a registered Savings and Credit Cooperative Organization (SACCO) formed by thousands of ride-hailing drivers, boda boda operators, and delivery riders across Kenya. United by common challenges — high commissions, lack of ownership, and financial exclusion — we’ve come together to build a platform that puts value back into the hands of those who create it.
Our mission is simple:
Empower mobility workers through ownership, savings, and fair earnings.
The proposed financial framework for DAES SACCO will transition from a traditional "commission fee" model to an innovative "commission-to-savings" model on its dedicated platform. This approach aims to create a sustainable wealth-building ecosystem that empowers members to take full control of their finances. By adopting this model, the SACCO enhances financial security for e-hailing service gig workers in Kenya, enabling members to retain 100% of their commissions for their financial benefit. As members' savings grow, they will gain access to member centric Sacco products, including loans that can be offered up to five times their savings, emergency loans, and other traditional SACCO offerings. Additionally, this financial model grants members democratic rights to participate in decisions that affect their financial futures.
